RBC - Ramallah Ballet Center

Ramallah Ballet Center - Dance School was established in may 2011 in Ramallah, Palestine. Project Founder is Sherin Ziada/Shyrine ziadeh. The goal is to provide kids and people of different ages a professional place to dance, act and think in a caring and lving atmosphere.

Through dancing, painting and drama therapy children will be given a peace of mind to think in a positive way.

Growing up in an environment full of violence and war affects the child in different ways, many children in Palestine suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome. Through dance children can develop their imaginations and find the courage to think in creative ways to cope with, and ultimately overcome, the troubles and obstacles they face each day. In this safe space, children will be provided an opportunity to devote their energy to hard work and creative development, instead of violence and the bad energy that they witness every day.

Ramallah Ballet Center provides children the opportunity to attend to a professional arts school. By working together with professional teachers and dancers from around the world, children are exposed to different ideas and cultures, as the performing arts in the Middle East are not strongly supported. This school is growing a base of young cultural leaders in Palestine.

Objectives

1. Expose Palestinians to the arts, specifically ballet and dance. 2. Provide Palestinian children a safe space where they can think and express themselves freely and creatively through dance, crafts and acting.
